Uncovering the Value of Professional Drone Pilots: A Kingston Community Success Story
Share
As a business owner, drone pilot, and resident of Kingston, Ontario, I was recently impressed by the public recognition bestowed upon some prominent drone pilots and their businesses in our community for their coverage of the construction and opening of the new Waaban crossing bridge.
The first pilot is Jeff Reitzel of SkEYE Stream who received a letter of thanks and congratulations from the local MP, Mark Gerretsen.
Watch the amazing long term hyperlapses of the construction from SkEYE Stream:
The others are Mike Hill and Paul Walsh from Aerosnapper Kingston. Mike was featured on the cover of the Jan/Feb issue of Kingstonlife magazine. Checkout the issue here:

It is truly inspiring to see drone pilots being valued for their contributions to the community, and as a new business owner in the same industry, it is something that I strive for as well. The recognition that these pilots have received is a testament to the impact that drones can have in our community, and it is a reminder of the importance of professional and responsible drone use.
The pilots who have been recognized for their contributions to the community are able to do so because they are professional. They abide by Canadian aviation regulations, they are certified, and they fly safely and legally. They are shining examples for anyone aspiring to fly drones for any reason.
As a business, we also contribute to the community by flying in a professional way. We offer in-person and online lessons, training, and flight reviews to help other pilots become certified, aware, and respectful of the regulations. Investing in proper training and certifications is essential for anyone who wants to use drones in a responsible and legal way. It is important to remember that people who buy drones without bothering to research or follow the regulations contribute to the negative perception of drones as a nuisance, and can cause accidents that result in even more regulations being put into place, limiting the places and opportunities for professional pilots.
We are proud to offer in-person practical training here in the Kingston area, as well as online practical training and certification training as a Coastal Drone Co. affiliate, wherever you are located. We believe that by investing in proper training and certifications, we can help create a culture of responsible and professional drone use, and continue to contribute to our community in a positive way. If you're interested in becoming a certified drone pilot, we invite you to click the respective links for in-person practical training here in the Kingston area, online practical training, or certification training through Coastal Drone Co., wherever you are.
